We are living in a time of great conflict and discord, both in this country, and throughout the world. There are wars in the Middle East, threat of war in the Far East, political, religious, and racial tensions both here and abroad, and conflict over uneven distribution of natural resources, such as water and arable land. We, as individuals, may feel helpless in the face of all this.

Sometimes it is a good idea to look more closely at religious terms that we use freely but seldom think deeply about. In previous articles I have written about Faith, Hope, Charity, Thankfulness, and Brotherhood, but I haven’t written about Grace. Yet we encounter it frequently in a religious context.
