At our July meeting we Obligated Charles Katzenstein and welcomed him as a member of our Grange. As always this led to many informational discussions as we went through the agenda for the night, with members explaining the background of things we now take for granted. i.e. Community Service, resolutions, Annual Session, etc.

The rest of the meeting involved plans for our many summer/autumn activities including our August 3rd dance. Again, this year we will have a booth at the Cornwall Agricultural Fair on Sept. 14th. Members were asked to bring things to the August meeting for our raffle baskets. This is a free raffle where fair visitors can fill out a contact form to drop in one of the baskets that are located at the back of the tent. We have a short conversation with each visitor about what our Grange does during the year.

We have finished the restoration of our Grange Hall from when the tree fell on it. Yes, it took a while but now is greatly improved. We are having a potluck on Saturday, August 17th for all Granges and Grangers so you can see for yourself what your generous donations have allowed us to accomplish. It is a Potluck Lunch at 7 Dunbar Road, Sharon CT 06069 (our Grange Hall) on        Sat August 17th at 12:00 Noon – rain or shine. Please bring a dish to share and your own drinks. RSVP by August 1st (so we can make sure we have seating) to Debbie Hanlon – (845) 418-9755 or email her at dhanlon370@gmail.com The books collected by Mountain Laurel Pomona #15 were delivered to the Roving Clover Book Bus. The bus goes to events and other places where children up to junior high are given free books over the summer months. This helps them retain their reading level when school starts in the fall.
