Family Activities News: Assorted Notes

By Dawn Percpski, CT State Grange Family Activities Director

  DECEMBER 6, 2022 --

BIG E

I wanted to share with  you the amount that we made  for crafts at The Eastern States this year. You truly made a huge difference and your donations are truly appreciated. We made an astonishing $21,000 for the crafts, which is the most we have made ever. It will go a long way to help pay for the many repairs that are ongoing. This building is truly one of a kind in the entire United States and it ensures future generations can continue our traditions. We can showcase the good work we do that has an impact on today’s society and that we are a worthy organization to join. I encourage everyone to come work and experience it at least one day during the fair as well as joining in to have fun at the same time.

Congratulation to the 3 winners of our basket raffle at state session: John Moore, Gina Joiner and George Russell. We hope that you enjoy them. We made a donation to the Grange Foundation with some of the money that we raised. We hope to continue to support other committees and try to help in finding ways to help lower expenses in the budget. Remember, if everyone tries to do just one thing, imagine what that would do!

Details for this year’s theme will have been unveiled at the 2 Regional Meetings held on December 10th and 11th. “Let’s Make Snowmen”. I can’t wait to see what you all create! There      are some important changes in this year’s Needlework Contest.  Each Chairman will receive a copy of the new brochure so it can be passed along.  We really listened to your suggestions and were able to make the following changes:

On behalf of the Family Activities Committee, we want to wish you all a safe and happy holiday season. Remember to wear masks and keep our hands washed. We want to keep everyone around us safe.
