Around The Grange
Sep 2022 News from Taghhannuck Grange No. 100

By Barbara Prindle

  September 5, 2022 --

Sept. 8: Memorial Service by Debra Tyler, Chaplain.

Oct. 13: Installation of Officers Nov. 10: Transition Towns by Chris Hopkins

At our August meeting Casey Flanagan and his wife Megan took part in the Obligation Ceremony and were welcomed as new members. The vote on the paint colors for the interior of the Hall were revealed as Monterey White for the upper part of the wall and Puritan Gray for the bottom half. We received the remainder of the money being held by our insurance company from the tree damage on our Hall which will allow us to complete the repairs. We want to again thank all the individual members and the Granges that donated to the repairs as it looks like we will come quite close to estimated amount.

Brent  and  I  were  elected  as delegates to 138th State Session in Norwich on Oct. 20-22 and will be discussing the resolutions at our next meeting so that we can reflect the wishes of our Grange members. We will again have a booth at the Cornwall Agricultural Fair on Saturday, Sept. 10 from 10:00 to 3 or 4:00.  Note: the “or 4:00” is because that is when everyone goes to the field where the cow patty bingo is held at 3PM.  We will have bubbles again this year at the request from the Cornwall Ag. Committee.
