Deputies' Corner
Deputy Corner: Thank your Deputy

By Todd Gelineau, General Deputy

  APRIL 5, 2014 --

At this writing some inspections have already been completed with the bulk of them being conducted this month and into the month of May.  Many members assume the Deputies receive compensation for their work.  This is only partly true.  All Deputies, including this one, are entitled to be reimbursed for their mileage for official visits to Granges (inspections or other meetings that are assigned/requested by the State Master or General Deputy).  Not all of the Deputies request to be reimbursed for mileage (25¢ per mile).  They do not receive an honorarium or other compensation for their work.  It’s all done out of their commitment to the Order and their love of the Grange.  Please join me in thanking all of them for doing this important work.

Remember, they are Grangers like the rest of us… working hard to support their Community and Pomona Granges while balancing their State Grange work.  A lot of the work we do is “behind the scenes” and is done with little fanfare (as it should be).

As always, please contact me or your Deputy if you have any questions, comments or concerns about your Grange work or the inspection process.  We’re here to help… not just to inspect!
