Deputies' Corner
Schools of Instructions Rolling Along

By Todd Gelineau, General Deputy

  MARCH 3, 2013 --

The School of Instructions keep rolling along, despite the constant threat of disruption by the weather.  There are still quite a few Schools yet to be held, so we encourage all members to take part in both the Pomona and the Community Grange Schools when held in your areas.  Masters should especially be present to receive their copies of the new Connecticut State Grange Master’s Handbook.  This Handbook has been developed to give new and experienced Masters helpful tips and information they can use to grow their Granges.  These first drafts are being provided to each Master free of charge and we encourage them to pass them down to their successors as there will be a $5 charge for any additional books.  Any members wishing to have their own copy of the book may obtain them for said charge by contacting me.

There are a great number of Executive Committee reports still outstanding.  If your books closed on September 30, 2012, your report is now over 60 days overdue.  Please forward your completed (signed, dated & sealed-- both sides should be completed) Executive Committee report to me as soon as possible.  Granges whose books closed Dec. 31 have until the end of March to submit their reports.  Please feel free to contact me if you are having difficulties completing it or if you have questions.  We can’t help if we don’t know there is a problem.

Please keep one copy for your records and have an additional copy ready for the Deputy when he/she inspects your Grange this spring.  Inspections will not be completed until the EC report is received by the General Deputy.
