July News from Ekonk Community Junior Grange

By Rebecca Gervais

  JULY 15, 2012 --

We held our Elections, congratulations to our officers elect:

President: Trevor Gervais, Vice President: Carly Sebastion, Program Director: Conner Sebastion, Steward: Jared Gervais, Assistant Steward: Lillian Sharpe, Lady Assistant: Allyson DiNola, Chaplain: Russell Sharpe, Treasurer: Emily Bonner, Secretary: Maria Angelone, Greeter: Jenna Wesa.   --6 of our officers will be in Kindergarten through 3rd grade.  A young bunch!  We are fortunate to have older, willing members and a dedicated group of parents!

27 Juniors, friends, and Subordinates rode the hay wagon, pulled by Ethan Jordan and his tractor, in the Oneco Memorial Day Parade.  We passed out Tootsie-Roll pops and patriotic pinwheels.  We had a great time!

It is so important to reflect on how blessed we are to live in the USA, and to be thankful to those who serve to protect us, especially those who made the ultimate sacrifice.

We had our annual plant sale!  It was a success.  We appreciate all who helped and supported us.  The profits all go to local children’s charities.

We voted to have a FISHING DERBY, this June.  Always a fun time.  We are hooked on this annual event!

The garden was planted. Can’t wait to see what got planted where.

The Juniors planted it by themselves!  We put in spaghetti squash seeds from the State Grange, a few different kinds of pumpkins and watermelon.

Sister Kay Ruff joined us, at our June meeting and will be inspecting us in July.  We will be practicing!

Our membership chairman, Clifford Gervais, is working on a promotional photo-show for Sterling school.  So many pictures, it should be quite interesting.

Happy 4th of July to ALL!   Visit anytime!
