JANUARY 25, 2010 -- Cushman Farms in North Franklin, one of the members of The Farmers Cow will be opening its doors for a winter farm tour on February 15, 2010. The free event runs from 1:00 pm until 3:00 pm and will allow visitors to see first-hand how The Farmers Cow milk is produced, visit the cows in their comfy winter home, learn about farming, watch the cows get milked on a "merry-go-round," and experience all that local agriculture is about.
"Our farm tours were extremely popular this past summer and we figured that many of the young children across the area will have Presidents Day off and would be interested in learning more about farming and where milk comes from," says Robin Chesmer, managing partner with The Farmers Cow. "Cushman Farms is pleased to open its doors and The Farmers Cow will also treat visitors to free milk and cookies during the event."
Cushman Farms is located at 393 Lebanon Rd (Route 87) in North Franklin, Connecticut. The farm tour is free and no reservations are required. For more information and directions to the farm visit www.thefarmerscow.com.
