OCTOBER 2009 -- The third day of the 125th Annual Session of the Connecticut State Grange saw the conclusion of business, installation of one member of the Executive Committee, and the Junior program.
State Grange President/Master Robert Sendewicz opened the morning session promptly at 9:00 AM, where the members and delegates got right to business working their way through the remaining resolutions and Session Committee reports.
After a brief lunch recess, Junior Director Joan Perry gave her report and presented the Junior Program. The room was a sea of red as members wore red honoring the work of the Junior Granges. Junior Director Perry recognized the numerous contest winners from the three Connecticut Junior Granges - Ekonk Community Junior, Hillstown Junior and North Stonington Junior, and spoke of the community service work the Junior Granges are undertaking.
Following the Junior Program, F. Philip Prelli was installed as a Member of the Executive Committee for the constitutional term of three years. Sendewicz concluded the session with a few announcements of upcoming State Grange activities, and then closed in form in the Fourth Degree.
The 126th Annual Session of the Connecticut State Grange will be held October 20 - 23, 2010, with the Pre-Session Banquet on October 19. The location of the next Session will be announced soon.
