Riverton Grange met on June 7th for our regular monthly meeting; both virtually and in person. Refreshments were provided by the Roberts-Oliver family and celebrated National Donut Day. Members received an update on Christmas in July (co- sponsored by Riverton Grange), established a Study Committee to review renovating our kitchen and hall electrical service, and submitted the final paperwork for completion of our $10,000 grant-funded restrooms renovation chaired by Judy Doyle and Chris Wright. The Lecturer’s Program was led by Sister Raine Pedersen and titled “Here Comes Summer!” The Grange also decided to host a craft vendor’s market during Riverton Fair weekend, working with Bill Missionellie. Our ever-popular Country Store raised $70 for our operating fund.

Riverton Presents: Christmas in July is a new 2-day event for our community modeled after the very successful Christmas in Riverton which has been held for decades on the first weekend of each December. For this new event, co-chaired by Riverton Grange, a large craft vendors market and teacup auction will be hosted in the Grange Hall under the leadership of Raine Pedersen and Jackie Martin. Other activities include a free concert under the stars on the Riverton Fairgrounds bandstand featuring Beale Street East band, wagon rides around the village, demonstrations, free popcorn, peppermint ice cream cones, balloons and face painting for the kids, photos with Santa & Mrs. Claus, a 30+ authors showcase, a historical walking tour of the village and a walking tour of the new David Leff historic trail at the end of School Street. The event is free and family- friendly.
