Jan News from Winchester Grange No. 74

  JANUARY 6, 2024 --

Jan. 9: A New Year- Ref. by Sandy & Earl Phillips

Jan. 23: Under the Stars- Ref. by Peter & Mary Lou Keefe

Winchester Grange continues to enjoy the mild winter season having held all regularly scheduled meetings. In early December we held a well-attended Teacup Auction and were approached by a community church about using our hall on a weekly basis for their church services. Unlike some other Grange/ Church arrangements, this group is aware that Winchester Grange is primarily a Grange Hall and will remain that way. At present, it seems like a good fit and we will try out the arrangement at the beginning of January and see if it works for both organizations. If it does work out, the Grange Hall will continue to work for the Grange generating more income by fully utilizing our facility.

While heating oil has been a burden for us, insurance has become an equal burden and this rental income should help greatly.
