Around The Grange
Jan News from Vernon Grange No. 52

By Irene Percoski

  JANUARY 3, 2024 --

Jan. 5 or 12: Short program on Zoom

Feb. 1: Bluebirds - Zoom

March 1: Family Activities Program –Nancy for refreshments

March 7: Vernon presents at Coventry Grange.

Small turnout for the Dec. meeting, 5 attending and 3 on zoom. December is one of those busy months with events. We persevered and made the best use of our time. We missed our Lecturer Cherie who was in the hospital and sincerely hope her stay there is a short one. Cards were addressed and sent to all our non- attending members and ditty bags were filled. More than 200 small hand-made ornaments were collected to distribute to the local nursing home patients. Thanks to all who worked hard on that project. Our next two meetings will be on Zoom (unless we have a heat wave). Winter is the perfect time to work on all those contest entries. The Lecturer and Family Activities and Agriculture Committees all have great contests. Knit a sweater, take a photo, plant a garden. Do something!!! Read the blue book and if you don’t have one check out the on- line version at CTstategrange.com , or contact a committee member or last resort – the State secretary, Todd Gelineau.  You’re not handy, donate your time, make a donation, find something to add to that community service report, the point is NOW is the time, don’t waste it. Spring will be here before you know it. We wish you all a safe and healthy New Year.
