Since my last report as is usual our members signed up for a meeting month that they wanted to create a program and give it at that meeting. We also voted on and welcomed Dennis Jasmine as an Affiliate Member and promptly put him in an Officer’s Station as will be done until our October 12 meeting when he becomes Assistant Steward. Our August dance was very well attended by 33 people and this time we made money after paying the caller and band. Our next Square/ Country dance is November 4th from 7pm-9pm at our Grange Hall. All dances are taught and all ages are welcome.

We had a booth at the Cornwall Agricultural Fair on Sept. 9th. The forecast was for rain almost all day but it never rained and it looked like the largest crown that I have seen there these many years. We would like to thank Terri Fassio and Todd Gelineau for getting the customized Grange applications for membership to us in time for the Fair. Our booth with the free “raffle” that consisted of one ticket to each person and needed to include their name, email and phone number to enter and then drop into one of the prize boxes. There were three spaces underneath their information where they could check if they wanted to be contacted about “Grange Information”, “Grange Programs” or

“Dance Information”. We then put them on the corresponding email lists that we are building. Surprisingly or maybe not the majority checked at least one of these choices. Also, a fair attendee signed up with the application and membership fees on the spot. We voted him in at our September 14th meeting. We also had 2 of our dedicated members, Bill & Diane Palmer, join that meeting via Debbie’s phone and take part in the meeting which added to the fun during the Lecturer’s program.

Taghhannuck is putting the $1000 capital grant from the State Grange to good use in our Hall. Now that it is newly painted our building committee is putting things up on the walls and getting new curtains to put in all the windows that will not only deaden the echoes but will help insulate the Hall during the winter months.

The Stanford Grange #808 from Stanfordville, NY will come with their degree team to do the installation of our officers at our Oct. 12th meeting at 7:00pm starting time. It is also a Halloween themed program so you are welcome to attend in costume if you so desire.

Our Grange is actively working on the NACP (National Affordable Connectivity Program) by having had information available at the Cornwall Ag Fair. Our President also participated in the Zoom meeting that was set up by our National Grange. This ties in very well with our ongoing commitment to people having access to affordable broadband internet.
