June 22:   Summer Programming Sign up

The spring has been busy for us. We have held regular meetings. We have been having work sessions on the second Sat. of the month and have invited the community to join us. We also have been doing some community service in the area.

We went to the local elementary school and refreshed their garden. We had a local company donate a load of mulch. This made quite an improvement to the area and was much appreciated by the school personnel.

Our teen nights continue on the second and fourth Friday evenings. They do some cooking and craft projects. A very successful art show was held in March, and we collected non-perishable food items for the local food bank.

A public poetry reading evening was held with several local poets presenting their poetry. We continue to be grateful to the local groups who use our hall including the home school group and the yoga sessions held several times a week.   Our recycled bags are still being sold.

The Cosmic Cat, a psychic group held a fair on Mother’s Day. We are deciding what we can make to be sold at the Big E.

We are accepting applications for the 2 scholarships we have available for students who reside in Woodstock. We established a by-law revision committee.

Our program in April was a discussion of water testing and treatment for homeowners. This testing needs to be done on a regular basis. We will have representative of the local lab to speak to us about his need.

We are planning to have float in the Woodstock Memorial Day Parade. This will be a decorated truck. We are planning a taco dinner. We also discussed the spring planting workshop that is being planned and we have many gardening books for reference. We welcome the community to visit us for our meetings in order to get some new members to help with our projects. We always welcome members and visitors.
