Around The Grange
May 2022 News from Senexet Grange No. 40

By Diane Miller

  May 21, 2022 --

We have been holding regular meetings as well as special work sessions. We held a very successful art show for the community on Sat. March 26. Items were collected for the food bank at TEEG the location for food and other essential needs of the community. We also provided a soup and sandwich lunch with the proceeds also going to TEEG. We are planning to make some craft items to sell at the Big E Grange building. We plan to do some cleanup at the Elementary school garden as well as the walking trail in town. We held an open house on Sat. April 9 from 1-3 PM to show the community what is the Grange. We are encouraging the community to attend various events and have published these events.   These include the Woodstock Recreation events, the local cribbage group and senior events. These posters will be put on bulletin boards. We continue to hold bimonthly youth evenings. These are very popular and include cooking, crafts and discussion. The hall is used for the home school group on a weekly basis as well as a yoga group.

We have two scholarships available to Woodstock students entering college. The applications have been distributed to the schools with students from our town.

We are looking for community service projects for students from the local high school. At the last meeting we painted pictures to send to seniors. We are grateful to have the community use our hall for their events. A Cosmic Cat Physic Fair will be held here on Mother’s Day. We welcome all visitors whether they are members or not to attend meeting and events.
