Around The Grange
April 2022 News from Taghhannuck Grange No. 100

By Barbara Prindle

  April 11, 2022 --

Apr.14: Spring Cleaning In & Out (this is an in-person meeting). We will meet at 6:30pm  to  start the cleaning of our Hall. Everyone brings cleaning products and rakes, cutters, etc. The meeting begins at 7:30. Ref. by Ruth Schnell

May 12: Painting presented by Diane Palmer. Refreshments TBA.

At our March meeting we draped our charter for Janis Downey who was a 30 year member and our members reminisced and told favorite stories. Our Chaplain adapted the ceremony for Zoom and it was inspiring.

Our members are getting good at sharing their screens and other zoom  activity  just  at  the   time we are going back to in-person meetings starting in April. We had our first Heirloom presentation and discussion of the First Degree and what it means to each member.

Andrea Downs who is a paramedic with Northern Dutchess was a guest speaker during the Community Service part of our meeting. Northern Dutchess is our Town’s “intercept” for our volunteer ambulance squad. She explained the value to our communities that our yearly financial aid to for the 60 hour EMR training will have. We learned that instead of needing two EMTs on our volunteer ambulances in the Northwest Corner to roll there can be 1 EMR and 1 EMT which encourages more volunteering.

Taghhannuck is very happy to be able to have a Plant & Rummage this year. It will take place at our Grange Hall on June 4th from 9:00 to 3:00.
