| JANUARY 5, 2020 -- Hillstown Grange is holding a Root Cellar Soups-N-Free Seed event on Thursday, January 23, 2020. Doors open at 6:00 p.m. for our homemade soup dinner followed by the seed distribution at 7pm. Some of the soups will be made from this winter’s root cellar produce featuring Pumpkin and Garden Vegetable Soup. Cost for dinner is a free will donation (suggested $5 donation).
The Agricultural Committee plans to announce this year’s special gardening contests and schedule of future gardening events and classes. Also a gardening discussion with question and answer time will start at 7:30 p.m. giving all gardeners a chance to talk and dream about our 2020 gardens. Bring your favorite seed catalogs to share. Great for novice or first time gardeners to learn from the old pros. We are starting a Central Connecticut Phenology Program and homework is for you to find out what "phenology" means.
Hillstown Grange is located at 617 Hills Street, East Hartford, CT. Located in the Hillstown corner of East Hartford, Glastonbury, and Manchester since 1888. The Grange is the oldest Agricultural group in the United States.
