July 2019 News from Beacon Valley Grange No. 103

By Joanne Cipriano

  July 10, 2019 --

Officers for the next two years have been elected. Can’t tell you as of this writing who they are as it is in between the time we need the news sent to the Granger. Check in next month.

On July 12th we will be holding our annual Officers’ Planning meeting. Supper to be served at 6:00. Come and get yourself involved.

Our 130th Anniversary celebration was a fun night. We were honored to have in attendance: State Master George Russell and wife Sharon, National Overseer Phil Prelli and Maureen, Past Voting Delegate Bob Sendewicz and State Officers Marge Bernhardt, LAS Eloise Osuch, Pianist Mary Lou Keefe and General Deputy Peter Keefe and our Mayor Pete Hess.

We honored James Goggin as our Citizen of the Year and our members Ron and Pat Fischer for all they do for our Grange and presented a Past Lecturer’s pin to Cindy Legg.

The judges were good to BVG at Let’s Celebrate. In the Lecturer’s Dept. Ron Fischer placed second singing an original song he wrote about the Grange and in the A Number Contest we placed second for our Memorial Day number. In the CWA Dept. Pat Fischer placed first for her peanut butter cupcakes, Diane Godin placed first and Joanne Cipriano placed second for their entries in the Plastic Canvas and Cindy Legg received a third place for her toy.

Our July Open Mic is on Saturday- July 20th, time 2 to 5. Our Grange Band “The Bad Boys” who perform each month and at our anniversary will be entertaining.

Hall clean-up day is held the third Wednesday of the month at 1:00. I’ll be there, will you?
