Around The Grange
July 2018 News from Cannon Grange No. 152

By Don Offinger

  June 16, 2018 --

July 5: Business Meeting

July 19: Business Meeting

Aug 2: Business Meeting

Aug 16: Preparations for the Ag Fair

Aug 26: Annual Agricultural Fair (10 Am - 4 PM)

Activities at the Cannon Grange Hall have been many and varied: an informative and interactive program on Wine-making was presented by John Kriz back in May. John is an award-winning vintner, sommelier and connoisseur of wines and meads. A very lively and well-attended public program featured our local State Representatives and Senator for what has become an annual Legislative Session Wrap- Up hosted by our own Gail Lavielle.

Planning for the upcoming Agricultural Fair slated for Sunday, August 26th has been underway for several months. Not only will we be encouraging our area neighbors and friends of Cannon Grange to prepare and submit exhibits for judging, but we are encouraging all Grange members from nearby Pomona Granges to come support our wonderful fair. Please circle the date

We are appreciative of Lena Ivanaj, one of our new members, who graciously spent many hours recently, with her sister, cleaning our Hall back to a shiny and bright space; the kitchen looks like a fine commercial kitchen. Thank you Lena!

We now have WiFi at Cannon Grange Hall!

Dearta Fusaro has very kindly been updating our Hall Rental Program and aligning it to other venues in town in terms of services offered and fees charged.

Don Offinger reports that his farm’s spinach crop is now in its 4th cutting, and hopes to match last year’s results of 6 cuttings before it bolts.

Please note our meeting and event schedule. Visiting Patrons are always welcome
