Around The Grange
May 2018 News from Beacon Valley Grange

By Joanne Cipriano

  May 13, 2018 --

Our May meeting will be held on the 11th- that is if the snow ever stops falling. As I am typing this the snow is coming down pretty hard for April. Lecturer Judi Reynolds will present her program on Mother’s Day and Memorial Day. Master Joanne will be the host for the social hour.

Our next tag sale will be held on Saturday, May 4th. To our stay-at-home members, if you have any treasures we could use them.

Ron Fischer will hold the next Open Mic on Saturday, May 19th from 2 to 5 P.M. As usual, we invite everyone to come and enjoy the music or participate. Snack food will be available. As always, everything is free of charge. Thanks to David Knapp and Ron who have done a good job with publicity.

On the same day we will have a Grange promotion table in the center of Naugatuck.

Thanks to Judi Reynolds who suggested having a pancake breakfast. Attendance could have been better, but, we did make a profit.

Our medical list keeps growing. Victor Godin who had heart surgery and expected to be home by now had pneumonia and now has the flu. Ray Legg had a hip replacement and is now recuperating at home after a hospital and convalescent home stay. Sue Brush made a couple trips to the hospital. Pat Fischer had a problem and is now out and about. Arthritis has taken a toll on our Pomona Harriet Sawczuk and Pat Bisson. We wish them all a speedy recovery.
