Winchester’s final “big” event of the year will be the Holiday Super Prize Party & Bake Sale on Friday, Nov. 3. The doors open at 6:00 P.M. and the drawing begins at 7:00 P.M. It’s a huge teacup auction that’s lots of fun and the tickets are inexpensive. We would love to see you there!

In September, Winchester Grange worked with the Fire Department, Congregational Church, Historical Association and Little Red Schoolhouse to present the annual Winchester Center Day on the 30th. It was a brisk (translation: cold) fall day but the rain held off for most of the day and attendance was better than expected. The cool temperatures seemed to help apple crisp sales as we sold out by noontime. There was an art show in the upper hall, a tag sale in the dining room, and plenty of hot dogs and knochwurst for sale at the grill. Across the Green, the church presented an antique car show and a live band on the gazebo while the Historical Association had the chapel open for tours. It was a nice day to visit with friends and neighbors while enjoying some of the things that makes Winchester Center a nice place to be.
