Nov 4: Special Event: Line Dancing at the Hall

It’s been a busy summer filled with activities at Cannon Grange! We had a lively audience in attendance for our Legislative Wrap-Up program, hosted by our very own Gail Lavielle, state representative, joined by state senator Toni Boucher and state representative Tom O’Dea. The Legislative Wrap-Up has become an annual event and provides the forum for our area residents to ask questions of their elected officials.

We had a great 85th Agricultural Fair on August 27th. This year’s new category for competition was Watercolor Painting. We have some very talented people in our community! The regular categories that typify an agricultural fair were also really nice: baked goods, flowers, eggs and vegetables. After 40+ years of service, we retired the yellow & white awning panels on the east side of the building, with brand new ones that are blue and white. They look very nice against our white with dark green trimmed Grange Hall. We were able to collect several hundred pounds of non-perishable foods, as admission to the fair, for the Wilton Interfaith Food Pantry for those residents in need of assistance. We send best wishes to two of our college-age members who are now off for their first year of college: Evan Clark who is attending Roger Williams University in Rhode Island, and Audrey Keliehor who is attending Drew University in New Jersey.

Coming on Saturday, November 4th will be an evening of Country Dancing at our Hall starting at 7 PM. There will be live music with a caller, and instruction for all the dances. It will be an evening of great fun and enjoyment. Mark your calendar, and know that you can get tickets at the door. Watch our website for program topics to be held at our regular meetings. Visiting Patrons are always welcome--won’t you join us?
