July News from Taghhannuck Grange

By Barbara Prindle

  July 9, 2017 --

Taghhannuck Grange had a very successful Rummage & Plant sale on June 3rd. It was a great success as we made over $2400.00.

This is our major fundraiser for the year. Robin Hood Radio and the Waterbury Republican-American and the Lakeville Journal were very accommodating with PSA announcements.

We also donated 75 vegetable plants to the Sharon Health Care Center. They have raised beds there and the residents will watch the plants grow and enjoy the produce.

Our July 13th meeting is “The Fair” led by Debbie Hanlon which means we begin to discuss our entry for the Bethlehem Fair in September. We won the blue ribbon last year because of much planning and hard work on our exhibit.

Our July 27th meeting is “Work in Progress” by Ruth Schnell. Ruth also won our Cookie Contest on May 25th for the Old Fashioned Oatmeal Cookies. She will bake them again for the state judging.
