March News from Taghhannuck Grange

By Barbara Prindle

  March 7, 2017 --

Taghhannuck Grange, with the help of a grant from the Connecticut State Grange Community Service Committee, has given the elementary schools in Sharon, Kent, Warren and Cornwall booklets containing the U. S. Constitution and The Declaration of Independence.

These booklets are for students in the Social Studies classroom. As one teacher wrote “The students enjoy flipping through them while discussing current events or when we are debating historical situations.” Each classroom has enough booklets so every student has one.

Now that winter is gone (hopefully) we are back to two meetings a month. On March 9th the program is “Be Healthy” by Sharon Kroeger who is very knowledgeable about health and natural foods. On March 23rd the program is An Introduction to Aerial Arts by Margaret Hopkins who does both aerial silks work and flies on a trapeze (I do not believe she will fly at the meeting). We meet at 7:30pm and would love to have visitors.
