By Glenna Bruno

  January 11, 2017 --

Jan. 2: Celebration Over. Happy New Year.

Jan. 16: Snow Date.

Meetings Sat. afternoons at 2 P.M.

Our winter meetings in Jan. and Feb. (March?) will be held on the fourth Saturday of the month at 2 P.M. at the Grange Hall. Best to call to be sure we are meeting - Master Eleanor Davis at 860-774-3912 or Glenna Bruno at 860-774-8180.

On Dec. 19th we held our Annual Christmas Party & Potluck Supper at 6 P.M. Program: “Yankee Swap & Santa Claus Appearing.” We prepared a Christmas basket for a needy family. Our usual dinners on the second Wednesday of the month will not be held in January.

Two farmer’s markets have been held. Also, Breakfast and a Bluegrass Concert all in one day make for a long day. Need more vendors and helpers.

State Lecturer Marge Bernhardt and Mary Lou Raymond of the State CWA, Ted Beebe of Membership, plus three Ekonk Grangers were present. Marge presented our Master Eleanor Davis with an award for her essay on “My Favorite Place in Connecticut.” Eleanor is very good at writing essays and has won many awards over the years. Dr. Edward Morin gave an interesting program on the music icon Buddy Holly of his music year of the 50s & 60s.
