| JUNE 16, 2014 -- Hillstown Grange is holding a Garden Show-N-Tell and pot luck dinner event on Thursday, June 26. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. for a pot luck dinner. We will provide some main dishes and are in need of some salads and side dishes. If your garden has some veggies ready we would love to sample them.
Following dinner we are holding a gardeners’ Show N Tell. Now is the time to pick a couple of peas or beans and see how they compare with other gardeners crops. See what bugs and weeds are or will be attacking soon. We still have seeds available to plant for a fall crop. Find out when and how to enter your crops in local agricultural fairs. We hope to discuss future events to cover topics such as canning, freezing, jam making, bread making, etc.
The Agricultural Committee will have some seedlings for this year’s special gardening contests.
Hillstown Grange is located at 617 Hills Street, East Hartford, CT. Hillstown Grange has been serving the agricultural and social needs of our area since 1888. The Grange is the oldest Agricultural group in the United States.
Free event, so come spend some time with fellow gardeners and enjoy some good food.
