APRIL 29, 2014 -- On Monday April 28th, Bethlehem Grange #121 presented the Community Citizen Award to Christine Murphy, coordinator of the Bethlehem Food Bank. She was pleasantly surprised to be given this award. Grange President Albert "Skip" Maddox explained to the assembled crowd of Grange members and guests how Mrs. Murphy was chosen to receive this award for 2014 because of her service to the community. The presentation was followed by a musical program put on by Connecticut's Bristol Old Tyme Fiddlers Club under direction of Gerry Lagace which was enjoyed by all present. We were honored to have Bethlehem selectmen Leonard Assard, David Deakin Jr., and David Butkus, as well as Mrs. Murphy's brother, Waterbury Mayor Neil O'Leary in attendance.
