Around The Grange
January 2014 News from Glastonbury Grange

By Kathryn Ruff

  JANUARY 1, 2014 --

Glastonbury Grange enjoyed our Christmas Party at Olympic Pizza.  We had at least 15 in attendance.  We collected children’s books for the Glastonbury Social Service Department.  As I am typing this up I do not have the number of books collected.  I will report that at the next issue.

Here we are in 2014 already.  Time to think about what we need to accomplish in the new year.  One important issue is NEW MEMBERS.  We all, need to bring in at least one new member this year.  REMEMBER when we are no longer here there needs to be someone here to replace us.  If we don’t do something about it, who will?  I will be passing out Grange applications for all to use in January and February.  Let’s see who has the best luck at bringing in a completed application or two.

I will also be calling the Glastonbury Social Service Department to see what they can use during the late winter and early springtime.  Maybe non-perishable food items, or something for the needy children.

I am sure we all had a nice Christmas season and are now ready to get into the swing of 2014.  Bring a friend or two with you to our card parties.  We could use at least two more tables.  See you at a meeting and at the card parties.
