Wallingford Grange News for May

By Dan Lauttenbach

  MAY 8, 2013 --

March 17:  Program was based on “St Patrick’s Day” and was presented by Joan Olschefski. We learned more about fairies and banshees of Ireland. Banshees have been portrayed in the popular media as evil and bad. In Ireland this is not the case. For example in Ireland a banshee was a medium to help a relative pass safely from this world to the next.

It was suggested and voted on to have a Spring Tag & Bake Sale from 8am to noon on April 13th.  Marcia Cutrole was going to run with this and would handle the calls and get vendors. It was asked that members bring 4 bake items for our bake table and the Grange would also have its own table for tag sale items.  We will also open the kitchen to sell hot dogs and sandwiches

March 28- This was our annual “Spring Planting” program that was put on Dan. Seed planting mix, peat pots and various seeds such as tomatoes and squash where provided so that they may be started indoors then replanted outside after Motherís Day. The hall downstairs was rearranged for the upcoming tag sale.

Upcoming Meetings in May:

May 9- May Flies - and will also be our inspection night by our Pomona deputy Carl Bernhardt.

May 23- 128th Anniversary Celebration and Community Citizen Award Night
