MAY 1, 2013 -- Do you want your child to have opportunities for positive growth, to participate in community service, and to have fun with others their age while being supported by caring adults?
This May, Simsbury Grange will be starting its first Junior Grange. An organizational meeting will be held on Thursday, May 9 at 6:00 PM at Simsbury Grange Hall, 236 Farms Village Road in West Simsbury.
The Junior Grange is open to boys and girls 5-14 years old, and emphasizes a spirit of respect, cooperation and concern for others while learning about and serving the community. Membership in the Junior Grange encourages honor, patriotism, and a concern for agriculture and the communities where the children live and play. Junior Grange members learn to conduct meetings and hold leadership positions.
One of the benefits offered to Junior Grange members as well as non-members is the rustic beauty of Camp Maud Isbell Berger. Camp Berger is a summer camp owned and operated by the Connecticut State Grange. Located on scenic Park Pond in Winchester Center, Camp Berger offers reasonable rates for day and overnight camp. More information is available atwww.campberger.org and will be available at the Simsbury Grange Junior Grange Organizational Meeting on May 9th and also at the Simsbury Grange Tag Sale, Bake Sale and Indoor Farmers' Market event to be held on June 1.
