By Barbara Prindle

  NOVEMBER 2, 2012 --

Taghhannuck Grange #100 is having a square and contra dance on Saturday, November 10th from 7:30 PM - 10:00 Pm, with a few polkas and waltzes thrown.

The caller is Dave Akin from Pawling, New Yorkwho has been calling for 55 years. The band is Country Spice who are regulars at the Falcon Ridge FolkFestival.  Myrtle Hayden, the fiddler-violinist is an original member of Country Spice.  Guitarist is Gary Tuthill from Sharon who does blue grass along with being a square dance guitarist.  Daphne Naylor of Cornwall is the bassist and much in demand in local orchestras.

There is always a good time to be had at these dances.  Everyone can dance if they are so inclined since most dances have a walk through first. You can also sit on the side lines and clap and stomp your feet.

The Grange Hall is at 4 Dunbar Road, off of Route 4 between Sharon & Cornwall Bridge and behind Ellsworth Hill Farm.

A suggested donation is $7.00 for adults and $5.00 for children.  Free refreshments will be served.

For directions or more information call Myrtle Hayden at (860) 364-5800.
