AUGUST 19, 2012 -- This June a ribbon-cutting ceremony was held and Bill Czmyr Jr.’s longtime dream became a reality following ten years of work and planning. The over 5 million dollar project dedicated may have been a first of its kind in our country which provides homeless veterans with not only furnished homes but continual support as they start 18 new lives.
Many Granges contributed money spearheaded by Colchester Grange. The Granges are North Stonington, Norwich, Stonington and many local Colchester businesspeople as well as the American Legion Post 54, Local AARP #4019, the Harrington Court Healthcare, Skyview Realty and area associates and the St. Andrew Ladies Guild. Many Grangers offered not only financial help but contributed many household necessities such as linens, dishes, pots and pans and small appliances.
We at Colchester Grange thank all who participated in this important and well-deserved project. Mostly we thank the faithful, devoted veterans who serve and give us the freedom, protection and God given rights to live in the USA. |
