Mountain County Pomona May News Update

By Todd Gelineau

  MAY 12, 2012 --

Mountain County participated in the first-ever Statewide Tag Sale sponsored by the Social Connection Committee of the CT State Grange.  With all proceeds going to the American Liver Foundation, many members and friends happily donated many different items for the sale.  The Bake Sale portion of the day was dedicated to helping defray the Pomona’s portion of the cost of the new roof for its cabin at Camp Berger.  Unofficially, the Pomona brought in over $200 on the tag sale and another $75 for the bake sale.  Not bad for a first effort!  It was good to see Litchfield Grange Hall bustling with activity again!

Next up will be the spring conferral of the Fifth Degree at Winchester Grange on May 14.  There have been many new members taken in throughout the Pomona so we hope a good number of them will consider taking the next step to Pomona membership.  The evening will begin with a supper at 6:00 P.M. prepared by the members of Winchester Grange.  Cost for dinner is $5.00 (new members are free).

May 14:  Fifth Degree at Winchester Grange Hall, Dinner at 6:00; meeting at 7:30

June 25:  “New Ideas” at Whigville Grange Hall, 7:30 P.M.
