| OCTOBER 3, 2011 -- The following category winners were named at the Norfield Grange Agricultural Fair, held Sunday, Sept. 11.
First Place

Canned Goods/Preserves: Roland Poirier
Vegetables and Fruits: Vivian Simons
Flowers: Joanne Marushak
Eggs: Lyette Segerdahl
Sewing and Needlework: Ruth (Cubby) Hickcox.
Best in Show was awarded a ribbon, trophy and check for $201.10 to Ruth (Cubby) Hickcox for her handmade and hand-smocked pink and white dress. She also won The National Grange Award in the same category in 1970.
This year’s fair featured games, pony rides, food, crafts, vendors, and entertainment, as well as an auction by Ted Coley of contest entries in the baked goods, fruit, vegetable and plant categories.
Proceeds from the fair go towards the Grange Scholarship Fund, which awards a scholarship to a Weston High School senior and camperships to Camp Berger (owned by the State Grange) in Litchfield County.
