Meriden Grange: October News Update

By Dianne Clark

  OCTOBER 7, 2011 --

At our 82nd Annual Fair sponsored by Meriden Grange held on Sept. 10, Michael Relyea presented an herb booth, and Murray Newton demonstrated scroll work all day.  We had an open fair of baked goods, vegetables, flowers, quilts, embroidery, adult arts & crafs and children’s crafts and photography - all Murray Newton’s pictures.  Cynthia Hupper got best of show in Adult Crafts.

We held our Community Service Award at 4:00 P.M.  Rhoda Weyant was recipient for her volunteer work and how she helps people with cancer, along with other community service work.

We had a large turnout for our Roast Beef Dinner at 5 and 6 P.M.  Cynthia Hupper made the homemade pies for dessert.

We held our Auction and Raffle at 6:30 P.M.

On Sept. 23 we had a program on Ritualism, and on Oct. 14 we will have a program on Columbus Day.  On Oct. 28th we will hold our Halloween Parade.  Let’s give thanks for all our Grange blessings and join again.
