| SEPTEMBER 14, 2011 -- Rhoda Weyant was presented Meriden Grange’s Community Service Award for 2011 during Meriden Grange’s 82nd Annual Fair on September 10th. This year’s Community Service Award was for Rhoda’s volunteer efforts at the local Meriden Hospital for the past 60 years. Rhoda’s family was present for the presentation.
Meriden Grange No. 29 is located at 540 Broad Street in Meriden, CT. A Local Fair affiliated with the Association of CT Fairs, the Meriden Grange Fair was open to the public with contests exhibiting agricultural, baked and canned goods, arts and crafts, and photographic entries.
The Meriden Humane Society also participated again this year displaying available animals, programs, and activities the MHS are involved in. The Meriden Humane Society is also one of Meriden Grange's Community Service projects. A joint fund-raising supper is planned for November at Meriden Grange Hall. |
