Around The Grange
Snow, rain dampen clean-up

By Todd Gelineau, CT Granger Editor

  APRIL 25, 2011 --

It is sometimes said that if three snowflakes fall in Connecticut, two of them will fall in Winchester Center.  Early morning snow greeted the members arriving for the annual Camp Berger Clean-Up Day on April 23.

The snow was followed by a steady rain that limited activities to sweeping out cabins and sprucing up the Dining Hall.  Raking of leaves was not on the agenda this year as a landscaping company will be brought in later to clean-up and dispose of them.  The dedicated members who braved the chilly weather were supplemented by some members of the Camp staff and campers as well.

Plans are now moving towards the annual Open Houses to be held on Sunday, May 22 and Saturday, June 25 from 12:00 to 3:00 P.M.
