Around The Grange
Camp Berger needs you!

By Linda Coad, Camp Berger Trustees

  APRIL 7, 2011 --

Camp Maud Isbell Berger is a most important part of our Connecticut State Grange. It has not been on everyone’s front burner the last few years, and many repairs were not done or set to one side. Now it’s front and center!  We want everyone to see this as the great asset it is.

This is the place many of your grandchildren, children or you yourself may have gone for a wonderful experience.  Please help bring it back to the property everyone remembers.  The camp needs more campers. We are paying for more advertising this year but we need your help!

We realize not every Grange can support a full campership but could you do a half campership?

Our clean up day, April 23rd will not be raking leaves.  Rich, the caretaker, has a leaf blower and will hire a  truck to vacuum and move them.  We will be doing some of the other things that need to be done for this season.  Scrubbing mattresses, sweeping the floors staining the cabins and whatever Rich comes up with that is compatible with the talents of the volunteers. We will start at 9 A.M. and if enough helpers come, we will be through at noon.  Bring a picnic lunch and enjoy the afternoon.

Please let me know what you can do to help, and of course bring your own tools, rags, cleaning supplies.  Again this is your camp, it’s time for everyone to step up, and make it a camp we all can be proud of again.
