December 2019 News from Beacon Valley Grange No. 103

By Joanne Cipriano

  December 11, 2019 --

The members of Beacon Valley were really happy when they heard the report of the State Session from our Delegates Joanne and Cindy. First our resolution regarding cable technical support was adopted.

Award-wise we received a certificate for the CWA Committee. In the Lecturer’s Department Cindy Legg placed second in the Complete Program Contest and Joanne Cipriano placed second in the Essay Contest “My Grange.” We placed first for Community Service for Granges with under 50 members.    We also received a Bronze Certificate for Honor Grange. We are working on getting silver next year.

In the drawing for the Past Deputies Raffle our Grange had 8 winners. I have been chairing this raffle for 48 years and I haven’t been a winner yet - Maybe next year.

Our schedule for December – We party on the 13th with a potluck supper at 6 o’clock. If you would like to participate we will have a $5.00 grab bag. On the 14th we host the Christmas Party of the Southern Connecticut Past Masters and on the 21st we will have our monthly “Open Mic.

At our November meeting, Tom Honyotski had charge of the program with a Military Theme.

Tom assisted by Ron Fischer put on an excellent program. Following the meeting our new member Gary Frankel provided the refreshments. One nice touch, he brought fancy china tea cups for everyone to enjoy their tea. The food was tasty too.

From the members of BVG, we wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy and Healthy New Year.
