| AUGUST 2, 2011 -- The date of our Pomona Competitive Night is just around the corner. As I write this I have received confirmations from East Central, Mountain County, New Haven County, Farmington Valley and Excelsior Pomonas that they each will have a team. Unfortunately, North Central will not be able to participate.
These teams will compete in Sports, Cooking, Grange, Music and Luck. Cash prizes will be given to the first three teams and a small gift will be given to the members of the top three teams.
This will be held at the Prospect Senior Center on Saturday, September 17th. The evening will start with a potluck supper at 6:00 and the competition will be held at 7:00 P.M. If you are not a member of a team, come and cheer your team on.
Applications for the “Granger of the Year” Contests have been mailed to each Grange. All Granges have someone that deserves this recognition. They can’t win if you don’t enter them. Applications must be sent to Joanne Cipriano, Director by October 1st. |
